CHINA #1!!!! (Old PUBG reference, if you know you know) Chinese labs are releasing the Qwen series of models this week. This is great news!

Right now American companies are closing their model weights (the brains of an AI, it’s matrix math stuff) and not releasing it to the public. China, as a strategy, is releasing their models to the public using Open Source licensing. This is very good news for anyone who cares about having the ability to use AI unrestricted.

Qwen 3.8 is coming out this week, today they released their 2.4 Trillion parameter model (which is huge, takes money to host) and Friday they are going to release their 27b model (Small, we can run here at Altha Tech offices, very exciting). This will be a level up for our AI inference model’s brain, hopefully.
