We are going into the stars!!! We have now added a backup internet link using Starlink, Elon Musks satellite internet. It… Is pretty cool. For about $50.00 per month you can have internet… Anywhere. Pretty wild.
We are using this as a backup internet infrastructure for the new location. Testing out how it works, performance, etc. It’s important to have multiple redundant methods, for everything in data (and life), so dual internet connections that are also different modes of transport, is a good thing.
Up until now we have been pretty lucky surviving on one primary fiber connection, which has been incredibly resilient over the past 6-7 years. I would like for us to be more malleable and be able to provide hardware serving from anywhere. This is a step in that direction.
